Keypad Openers

R&S Concord carries many brands of remote controls for both gates and garage doors, including single- and multi-button options. Both remotes and wired openers can be provided on a service call or bought at our office in Concord, CA.

Keypad controls allow entry via the input of numeric codes. A single code typically corresponds with a particular person so you have more control over who has access to your property.

Ring Of Key Fobs

Proximity readers allow for no contact entry onto a property. They use a vehicle sticker or key card to automatically allow entry to a property.

Key fobs are small devices that must be manually scanned at a reader in order to allow access to a property.

Telephone Entry Systems

Barrier Arms

Telephone entry systems allow for remote entry into a property as well as two-way communication from the box. They require an internet or telephone connection.

Barrier arms protect gates and doors from damage by requiring vehicles to stop in advance. They use loop detectors to detect vehicles.

Gate Loop Detectors & Sensors

Gate loop detectors and photo sensors are safety features to prevent cars or people from being injured by an automatic door or gate.

ACCESS CONTROL MANAGEMENT

Are the access codes for your keypad stored in the device itself or internet accessible? Not only do you have options about what type of access control system best first your situation, you also have options on how entry codes are managed.

INTERNAL MEMORY

Many keypads and telephone entry systems have a maximum number of codes that can be stored in their internal memory. Nothing can be accessed or changed remotely, and all codes must be written down in a log to create a roster.

IP-BASED

This option allows access control management through local or wide area network connections (LAN/WAN). While they do have a limit to the number of codes that can be added, it’s well beyond the number possible with a device’s internal memory, allowing for larger-scale applications. These normally require someone trained to use the interface.

CLOUD-BASED

This option allows access via internet connection. Cloud-based systems have the highest limit of codes that can be stored and have a user-friendly interface to make any changes, but they do usually include a maintenance fee. Cloud-based systems are our most requested.

What to include in your access control system?

We’ll ask questions to understand your property security needs and determine which access control options are the best fit.

Points of entry?

Do you have a driveway gate and garage door? A pedestrian gate? The points of entry that need to be secured determine your access control options.

1

Environmental Factors?

Aspects of the environment surrounding points of entry may impact what options are available.

For example, if you have a driveway that veers before an entry gate, a reader that scans your vehicle may not work correctly.

2

Personal Preferences?

Do you prefer remembering a code or carrying a fob on your keychain? Sometimes, access control decisions simply come to what works best for you.

3

ACCESS CONTROL REPAIRS

Because they are often used multiple times a day and in close proximity to vehicles, access control systems can experience damage and require regular maintenance.

R&S Concord can repair or replace any damage to your access control system as well as perform preventative maintenance. With decades doing just that, we have likely already seen the issue you’re experiencing multiple times — and know how to fix it.
