GATE FAQs
How soon can work be started?
The summer and fall are our busiest seasons. Lead times for new gates generally run 3-6 weeks, depending on our workload and the scope of your project. We offer many different styles of custom-made gates, ranging from basic to ornate, so a member of our team will be able to provide you with a lead time specifically for the type of gate you selected.
How long will it take to install my new gate?
Most gate systems can be installed in 3-5 days. Larger projects may run longer. A member of our team should be able to give you an estimate specific to your project. We will do our absolute best to stick to that estimated timeline.
What do I need to do to prepare?
To prepare for a gate or operator install, you’ll need to have a dedicated power source brought to the location of the gate operator prior to the installation date. If needed, we can help with power.
Does someone have to be home during the installation?
Not necessarily, but we recommend it. You will at least need to be there at the completion of the job so that we can show you how to work the gate, controls safety systems, etc.
How is payment handled?
R&S requires a deposit at the time of the order and payment in full at the completion of the job. Arrangements should be made to pay the installers at the time of completion. We accept cash, checks, Mastercard, Visa, American Express & Discover.
How long should my gate last? What is the warranty?
How long your gate should last depends on how well it’s maintained, but most gates should last 20+ years if well cared for. We recommend you schedule us to service the gate at least once a year to ensure everything is functioning properly. We offer a one-year warranty on parts & labor. Most manufacturers offer longer warranties in addition to ours.
What should I do if any problems arise?
If you have any issues with the job or any of our employees, please let us know. We aim to provide the same quality service we would in our own homes at honest prices with excellent customer service. We always have room to grow, so please let us know how we can improve.
