R&S FIRE DOORS
Rolling Steel Fire Doors are designed to close automatically at a certain temperature or when smoke is detected in order to protect property and save lives. R&S manufactures our own line of fire doors designed to drop and prevent or slow the spread of a fire.
R&S fire doors aren’t designed for high use applications and come with a 2-year/20,000 cycle warranty. A secondary unrated door is recommended for high-use applications.
Fire Door Drop Testing & Repairs
R&S Concord is certified by the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA) to drop test fire doors.
The National Fire Protection Association sets the minimum standard for fire door manufacturing, installation and maintenance to “protect openings in walls, floors, and ceilings against the spread of fire and smoke within, into, or out of buildings,” according to its website. NFPA 80 (Standards for Fire Doors & Other Opening Protectives) includes the yearly requirement to inspect and drop test fire doors.
Of course, the hope is fire doors are never needed. Ensuring they're in proper working order if they are, though, can protect property and save lives. If an issue is found with your fire doors during drop testing — or any other time — R&S Concord has the certifications and experience needed to troubleshoot the problem and make repairs.
